I'd like to buy a vowel

Here are the boys playing with the alphabet board. For less than $5, a small cookie sheet and two packs of alphabet magnets are a huge source of entertainment for Joshua. Megan has been enjoying helping me in the kitchen after dinner. I let Joshua watch Wheel of Fortune and we've created a little game of scrambling the letters on his board and when a letter is called out he searches for it. Sometimes we put the letters in alphabetical order, but for the most part, we just jumble them up and he sorts them as they are called.

It's pretty funny that most of the commercials that come on during the Wheel are aimed for the older generation. There are no commercials for Cocoa Puffs and Mariposa Barbie. These commercials are for minivans and bladder controlling medications. We play a game of guess what the commercial is trying to get us to buy. It's had some funny answers.

It's been a busy day between phone calls and errands. At 7:45pm, all three kids were snoring in their beds. Since it is still light out, I'm heading outside to clean out the mini-van and readjust carseats.

You take the cutest pictures!
On another note, I've been working on an additional blog about the food we prepare in our house, and I just noticed you have basically the same thing with your Snacks Blog! I'm still getting it set up, I'll share it soon!

Karale, I'm excited that more people are doing food blogs. I plan to print ours out into a little cookbook when I have a whole bunch of recipes. Maybe it will replace all these scraps of papers that I have recipes written on!

Mary, I swear, you are the coolest mom I know. Where do you get these ideas? Now I want to play both games. Fun, fun!

I love the game idea. :) I've been reading more and more about home-schooling... you are right on, you take advantage of the environment and use it to teach your children.... that's so great. I hope I'm doing well at presenting opportunities for "natural learning"... I'm sure it's a skill that evolves over time.
