It's all in the last minute details

Megan and Daniel sharing an apple today. They are so funny together!

Keith had a training of some sort this morning, then he came home for a few hours and went right back to work. While he was gone for his morning training, I spent my time evenly between creating castles out of Legos and making phone calls to the East Coast finalizing plans with the college about the upcoming graduation.

Then I sorted through the clothes again in the boys' room. I'm starting to set aside a few things for our express shipment. The express shipment is a shipment up to 1,000 pounds that we can send down to Florida to meet us there. Since all of our belongings that are currently in our house will be sitting in storage for a month or two, this express shipment sounds like the key to getting some of our things that we might want more sooner than later. I've got a corner in the garage that I've put aside a few smaller things to ship. I'm considering taking apart Megan's bike and Daniel's tricycle and seeing if they can be shipped in the express shipment since Joshua already has a bike there.

I'm also trying to clean out the pantry and freezer to get things ready. But at the same time, leaving the few convenience food items that we do have for Keith to warm up with the kids while I am gone.

I've got our outgoing hotel reservations made, so Keith and I can take turns hanging out with the kids while the packers are here. I can't even begin to imagine the trauma of watching their toys getting packed away.

I also re-structured the carseat configuration in the mini-van. Joshua was upset that I moved him back from his belt-positioning booster into a 5-point buckle. It just didn't feel safe to me, even at 5 1/2 years old, he still barely weighs in at 41 pounds. So I moved the kids around putting Joshua in Megan's seat, since hers is one that the 5-point harness holds up to 65 pounds. And Megan is in Joshua's since his 5-point harness holds up to 40 pounds and then becomes a belt positioning booster. I read tonight that Florida State Law indicates that carseats are mandatory for children 3 and under only. And that children 4 and 5 should be secured in a safety seat or with just a seat belt. Wow...someone's behind in their carseat research, and it's not this slightly overly paranoid safety freak. :)

I'm not even kidding you--you are SO organized I can hardly believe it!

The carseat thing is tough. My kids always want to take turns in each others--it drives me nuts because then there is a fight. :) I can't believe the Florida law! WOW!!

I'll be thinking of you, all that packing and organising, and young children to move! Love the apple sharing.
