Easter Wrap-up

Two weeks ago, Joshua brought home an invitation to go to a birthday party for the last Sunday in March.  I agreed before I realized it was Easter Sunday.  So, we planned an Easter breakfast and invited Keith's parents to visit, knowing that Joshua had a birthday party to go to right after lunchtime.  Keith's mom brought over adorable deviled egg chicks....thank goodness, because my oven died Sunday morning, which meant that the delicious egg dish that needed a few more minutes to cook did not work out for breakfast.

Joshua went to his friend's party and had a great time.  While he was gone, the littler ones swam in the pool.  With 3 kids, I find that every once in a while 2 will gravitate towards each other and it really varies which two are buddies.  This past week, Megan and Daniel were pretty inseparable.

Using their new boogie-boards as boats in the pool.

On April Fool's Day, I told the kids I had made brownies and that they were on the counter in the kitchen and that the kids could pack as many as they wanted in their lunchboxes for school.  Imagine their surprise when they found a plate full of....

brown E's!
April Fools!!

April first also marks baseball's opening season.  For which, Daniel (unprompted) chose to wear his Red Sox shirt to school and then to gymnastics.

Megan asked me to sign her reading log.  I was pleased that she completed to log, but then I was confused about exactly how many days are in the month of March.

I've been enjoying two glorious weeks of spring break from school.  Aside from spending time outside chasing after the kids in the sunny weather, I've been busy cleaning house during the rainy days.

I bought a different liquid fabric softener, but then didn't like the smell of it, so I ended up taking the washing machine apart to clean the residue away, and donated the rest of the fabric softener away.  Yuck...so much for trying something new.

Megan and Daniel being best buddies out in the playroom.
I've given up on trying to clean the table off out there.  As long as there are no Legos on the floor, I'm okay with the creations staying out on the table.

Megan came home from school on Friday upset that she left her book report information at school.  Fortunately, after some calls to some friends, we had the gist of the project and she spent most of the weekend working on it.

Other fun stuff this week:

I cleaned out some of our homeschool textbooks and some of the kids outgrown clothes for an upcoming drop off at the consignment store.  Wow, their closets are so clean now!!

I learned that I can ship textbooks that I'm not interested in keeping back to Amazon for a credit to buy even more textbooks.

I ordered all 3 kids their end-of-the-school-year yearbooks.

Keith has been a little crazy on the rainy days when he can't be outside doing stuff, so he's becoming a crafty stay-at-home dad.  He made Megan a new watch band out of paracord.  She's like a little survivalist now.

And here's a picture of our crazy cat...
Pepper likes to sit on the roof and meow down on people as they come to the front door.
